Baba Ka Dhaba | What We Can Learn | The Full Story |

"Hello, friends!"  "Last year, 'Baba ka Dhaba' was viral on social media."  Hundreds of people came forward to help Baba.  Many people even donated money to help Baba.  "But now, the latest news is that"  "Kanta Prasad, whom we know as Baba"  is now admitted to Safdarjung Hospital.  What's the reason?  It's being claimed that he attempted suicide.  How did it happen?  "How did this wholesome, happy story"  turn into such a tragic story?  I'd like to talk about this in today's video because  there is a very important lesson in this story for all of us.  We have a lot to learn from this story.  Let's find out how.  "For the uninitiated, let's look at the story from the beginning."  "It starts in October 2020,"  "a food vlogger, Gaurav Wasan,"  "uploads a video on his Facebook, Instagram and YouTube channel."  "In the video, he shows the story of an octogenarian couple."  Kanta Prasad and his wife Badami Devi.  """...you won't find Matar Paneer."  "And they are saying that they aren't able to sell."""  They work hard to run a dhaba.

To support themselves.  "But because of Covid,"  they were facing difficulties to make ends meet.  "When hundreds of people came to know about their story from social media,"  it touched the hearts of the masses.  A Twitter user named Vasundhara shared a clip of this video on Twitter  "that got more than 50,000 retweets."  "And just like that, the story of Baba ka Dhaba"  went viral across social media.  Famous celebrities like Randeep Hooda were also requesting people  to go eat there for supporting Baba ka Dhaba.  And many people did go to eat at Baba ka Dhaba.  And others simply donated money.  "After 20 days, the same Twitter user tweeted that"  Baba and his wife had cataracts.  "So her friend's father, Dr Sameer Sood"  operated on their eyes for free  to give them clear eyesight.  "Seeing this story, people really felt that there still is humanity and compassion in the world."

"And that even today, social media can be used for so many good causes."  "But after some days, the situation worsened."  Some accounts on social media and Baba himself  claimed that food vlogger Gaurav Wasan had cheated him.  He said that Gaurav stole some of the donated money that Baba was supposed to receive.  "In fact, Baba registered a police complaint"  and so the Delhi Police registered a case against Gaurav  under IPC Section 420.  "As soon as this story spread,"  people started trolling and cursing Gaurav on social media.

They started calling him a thief.  Baba even called a press conference.  You'd wonder how Baba could call a press conference.  "Out of nowhere, a lawyer named Prem Joshi"  and another vlogger named Tushant came into the scene.  They were present with him at the press conference.  Gaurav responded by saying that some malicious people are using Baba for their own benefit.  They're trying to manipulate and incite him.  Gaurav believed that Baba had not made such allegations himself  rather some other people were trying to influence him from behind the curtains.  And these people called themselves Baba's managers.

Gaurav was pressured to show his bank details to reveal the truth.  So Gaurav went in front of the media and showed his bank details.  This eventually clarified that  Gaurav gave the entire money  "the money that was donated for Baba, was indeed given to Baba."  He hadn't kept it for himself.  "With the money Baba got, he opened a new restaurant."  And hired some new chefs for the restaurant.  "Unfortunately, Baba's restaurant didn't do well."  Because Corona's next wave came around.  "So he closed down his restaurant,"  and returned to his dhaba to work.  "Here, Baba regretted his actions."  So he apologized to Gaurav and asked for his forgiveness.  And told Gaurav that he is welcome to visit the dhaba anytime to have a bite.  And Gaurav generously forgave Baba.  He said that all's well that ends well.  That he who forgives is greater than he who errs.  And the situation between them got better again.  And we got a happy ending.  But then there was a new development.

Kanta Prasad has allegedly attempted suicide.  "His son, Azad, told India Today TV"  that his father was suffering from depression for the last few years.  And he had attempted suicide six years ago as well.  It's difficult to say what the exact reason is behind it  but few people believe that the media trial  and the instant reaction of the people to everything  had a terrible effect on him.  Think about it.  When Baba randomly accused Gaurav  people believed it without verifying it or seeing any evidence.  The social media trolls said something  people believed that and jumped to  troll and curse Gaurav.  "And a few days later when the situation overturned,"  people started trolling and cursing Baba.  This isn't the first case of a media trial.  You must've heard about the 2017 Gurgaon School Case.  Where a child was killed in the school.  People were furious after this case.  "Haryana police named a school bus conductor, Ashok Kumar, as the suspect."

The police said that the bus conductor had even confessed to having committed the crime.  The police said that he had hidden a knife in the toolbox of the bus.  "In fact, an employee of the school even gave testimony against the bus conductor."  "Hearing all these, the people and the media were convinced"  that the murder was committed by Ashok Kumar.  But no one thought that as per law  "the law and the Constitution of our country,"  "according to it, a statement to the police"  is not admissible as evidence in the court.  "But who cares, right?"  Who tries to look these up?  Before the legal trial even began  the media trail had labelled Ashok Kumar as a convict.  And the people started demanding death by hanging for Ashok Kumar.  "In such cases, we even see police encounters often."  "But fortunately, it didn't happen in this case."  Had a police encounter happened people would've begun celebrating  that a person who murdered a child was encountered.  A good end to the story.  That a murder mystery was solved.  But CBI stepped in here.  They conducted a forensic examination of the crime scene  accessed the CCTV footage and call records.  And they found that the bus conductor was not the actual murderer.  An unnamed student from the 11th class was involved in it.  The court finally acquitted Ashok Kumar.  Because he was innocent.  "And in 2021, CBI filed a charge-sheet against four police officers from Gurgaon,"  that they had tried to frame the conductor  by manipulating evidence.  Now you'd say that justice has been restored.

"Again, all is well that ends well."  But did anyone try to find out the conductor's story afterwards?  The channels that carry out media trials because the 'nation wants to know'  had no time for this.  But Ashok Kumar's sister told Indian Express that  Ashok Kumar was so brutally beaten by the police  that he can no longer do any manual work.  Cannot lift heavy objects.  He faced difficulty walking.  And he had to take pain killer injections.  This media trial had destroyed his life.  "After his arrest, his wife Mamta also lost her job."  She had some cleaning jobs at nearby schools.  His father was a security guard at a school.  Even he lost his job in the lockdown.  Ashok couldn't pay the school fees of his two children.  "Fortunately, some locals helped them to make ends meet."  He had not committed any crime.  "But still, he had to suffer so much."  Was it only bad luck that he was present near a crime scene?  "No, we can't call it bad luck."  Because our law clearly states  'Innocent Until Proven Guilty.'  "But media trial, a hunger for TRP, sensationalism,"  "and the reactionary nature of the people,"  he had to suffer because of all these.  "What happens, friends, is that whenever we come across an emotional incident on the media"  "like a terrorist attack, or the death of a celebrity,"  "instead of helping the investigation, the media"  creates an uproar.  Which creates pressure on the police.  The pressure on politicians also increases.  "And so the police and the politicians try to satisfy the people as quickly as they can,"  "to satisfy the furious citizens,"  by labelling someone or the other as the suspect.

To find someone to put the blame on.  A scapegoat.  And whomever the media decides to blame  or the police decides to blame  that person's photo appears in the media and on the front page of newspapers.  Primetime debates take place.  But later when the courts acquit them  that news is somewhere in a small box on page 9 or 10.  The mindset of the people regarding such things should also be taken into consideration.  Some people think that even though the person has been acquitted by the courts  "since the police had arrested them, they would've done something wrong."  This is a very wrong mindset.  Because there is a world of difference between the police and the court of law.  The police is an agency that can be influenced by politicians.  "Nowadays, even the courts can be influenced to some extent,"  "but on the whole, in the grand scheme of things,"  our judiciary is quite independent of our politicians.  Compared to our executive and other branches of the government.  That's why one should never think like this.  "Friends, there was a film called Shahid with Rajkumar Rao in it."  "If you haven't watched it, I'd recommend that you do."  Because these issues have been talked about in this film.  About which I'm talking in this video.

A similar case was seen when a person suffering from chronic depression  commits suicide in a room.  And the girl that he loved  is made into the convict by the media trial.  I'm talking about Bollywood actress Rekha.  "And when her husband, Mukesh Aggarwal died in 1991."  Some people called Rekha a witch.  Some other celebrities completely went against Rekha after this incident.  "It was later found, that Rekha had no involvement with this death."  And it was a suicide.  It seems like the Pliable Media was not enough to do all these on its own  nowadays there are even Pliable YouTubers on social media.  That are more brutal at using sensationalism and insults  to malign people and gain their 'TRP'.  There are even some YouTubers whose entire career  is based on humiliating others.  Based on 'roasting'.  What actually happened with Gaurav  was that a lot of hate was driven by social media.  "Similarly, the pliable YouTubers made videos accusing Gaurav."  To defame Gaurav.  Saying that he's a thief that stole money donated for Baba.  That it's Scam 2020.  Some people had already labelled him with such huge accusations.  They had started a media trial on YouTube itself.  And this is very dangerous.  Here the mindset of the people is also to be blamed to some extent.  People have become so reactionary that  "whenever there is any incident,"  the people immediately start looking for the person that can be blamed.  The person that can be turned into a villain.  And then go curse the villain and start trolling them.  Is that all that's left to do?  They need to label someone as Anti-National for every little thing

"Label someone as a 'Desh Dhrohi' (Traitor), or a Thief."  Can't a person be seen just as a human?  Take the case between Baba and Gaurav  Can't both of them be treated as humans?  Is it really necessary to make someone a villain in this situation?  When Deepika Padukone's film Padmavat was about to be released  then a right-wing militant group had threatened Deepika Padukone  that they would cut off her nose.  Some people were also supporting this on social media.  "But when the film actually released, we found out that there was nothing in it worth the outrage."  Just think how reactionary people have become.  And Deepika had to suffer through so much  Had to face so much trolling  And for what?  There wasn't any reason for this.  "Friends, I think that from all these incidents"  We can learn 2 main things.  "First, that one shouldn't be so reactionary."  "Whatever you see in the media, any news"  Don't blindly believe in it.  Anything that's being said by the media or the police.  Have some patience.  Believing it is only a part of the problem.  To blame someone for it afterwards  "cursing someone, trolling someone,"  What will you get from doing it?  Why would you waste your time doing such useless things?  "And second is that friends, these pliable media and the pliable YouTubers,"  learn to ignore their sensationalism.  "Only then the social evils like roasting, abusing, and trolling can be eradicated from our society."  "And things like rationality, logical discussion, and unity can be promoted in our society."  Can be encouraged.  "I hope that you liked this blog, friends."  Let's meet in the next blog.  Thank you very much!
